Being ready for the inspection can prevent unnecessary delays.

Most home inspectors will charge an additional fee if they must return to the property to inspect items which were not accessible at time of original inspection.

For liability/injury reasons home inspectors do not move personal belongings.

To prevent any prolong inspections or revisits Castle Home Inspections, LLC has carefully prepared a pre-inspection checklist.

 

 

 

 

Checklist:

 

 All utilities are on including, water, electricity, and gas.

 Electrical panel pad locks removed.

 All light fixture have functional light bulbs.

 Security systems off.

 Pilot lights are lit on all gas appliances. (PG&E will light pilots at no cost)

 Attic or crawlspaces are not blocked or locked.

 Water heater is accessible.

 Furnaces are accessible.

 Sinks, showers and bathtubs are clear of personal items.

 Dishwasher is clear of items.

 Items stored in the garage/storage area is pulled away from the wall.

 Fireplace is clean.

 Air condition units should have power to the units a minimum of 24 hrs prior to inspection.

 Pets are secured. (Unsecured animals should be removed from the property or secured

in an area that will not need to be inspected)
